For more than 25 years the Barrier-Free Grant Program has assisted income-qualified households in making homes more accessible for persons with disabilities. This program can be used for both rental housing (like apartments) and single-family homes.
At a recent event hosted by the Alliance for Housing Solutions, a local affordable housing non-profit, experts spoke about housing’s important role in helping the economy grow. Former County Manager Ron Carlee, now with the International City/County Management Association, emphasized the connection between a diversified workforce and diversified housing.
